Beyond the causal factors of Sex and Pride such as STDs and teen pregnancy, Sex and Pride shows the reasons students turn to sex as well as its emotional and physical effects.
Tales in the City
This performance piece focuses on Lyle’s adventures with sex and his attempts to “get” every girl. Michelle on the other hand refuses to use sex as a drug. There are nine characters all acted by the presenter – each leads students on a journey of exploration about why students have sex and what could happen. There will be a brief feedback where students can talk to any of the characters and ask questions.
A play that focuses on the exploits of Chris and his desire to get with as many virgins as possible. Chris has an unhappy home life that creates his incessant need to conquer women. His attempt to videotape one of his conquests leads to his arrest. This is based on a true story that occurred in a Bushwick high school. Meanwhile, one of his conquest deals with her pregnancy!
Questions and Answers
The final feedback – all topics will be explored with students either asking questions of the presenter or of any characters in the play or performance piece. The students will lead the direction of this forum and have a chance to totally interact.
